A4 artwork created on thick, vintage book paper - mixed media: collage, inks, acrylic, penwork and gold leaf.

Daphne du Maurier finally moved into Menabilly with her family for Christmas 1943, 16 years after having first discovered the house as a 'trespasser in time' and 17 years after having first entered the Menabilly Woods with her sister Angela  - one autumn afternoon almost 100 years ago. Her 'House of Secrets' memoir evokes a strong sense of spirit of place that she experiences, surrounded by hooting owls and a Hunter's Moon. This artwork is inspired by her journey through the woods, to the house.
